About the Romanian Studies Program Print E-mail
The Romanian Studies Program provides American college and university students with the opportunity to combine academic learning with service to others in a cross-cultural context.

  • Cultural Immersion: Students learn to appreciate, adjust to, and learn from a new cultural context by living with a Romanian family, studying the language and aspects of the history and culture, and working alongside Romanian Christians.
  • Academics: Courses are designed to integrate classroom learning with field trips and experiential learning. Most students take a full semester load of courses which are tailored to help students match degree requirements for graduation.
  • Service Learning: Students work alongside Romanian Christians who are committed to serving needy people and bringing about positive change in their community.
  • Student Life: As students are being stretched in cultural and professional ways, they are supported by mature Christians who encourage them in their faith as they serve in Christian non-profit organizations and churches.
  • Apply: Join over 500 students from numerous colleges and universities who have spent a semester, summer, or January term in Romania. Students come from a variety of majors, learning how to integrate their field of study into a cross-cultural service setting.
